Thoughts run around in my head
As I lay curled up under my comforter
Tired, at least mentally,
But my eyes remain wide open
Even when my eyelids grow heavy
Dreams wait patiently
As I toss and turn in my bed
I just can't seem to shake the insomnia
Will I ever learn how to calm my mind
So that I can drift away to dreamland
And wake up tomorrow
Ready to take on the day?
